How long insurance company gives rental car after an accident?

My car was rear ended 2 weeks back and the other guys insurance company notified me yesterday that it will be totalled. They will cut me the check for kbb value of my car and will provide a rental car for just another week. I feel that is too less to find a new car and they should atleast extend the rental by one more week. is there any way i can contest this? are there any law requiring them to cover rental for more than 1 week in these situations?

I was in an accident that was not my fault. My car is now in the shop and it’s taking longer to fix than expected. I called my insurance company to inquire about a rental car – and they said that I don’t have rental car insurance. Shouldn’t the other person’s insurance pay for it – and shouldn’t my insurance take care of this for me and then get reimbursement from them? I feel like I’m getting the run around.

I’m going to be renting/leasing a car from Avis for around 6 months while traveling for work. Will my current auto insurance be enough or should I take out a separate policy on the rental car itself? I really can’t afford to take the insurance from Avis so I’m trying to find the next best option that will keep me well protected on the road.

I need to rent a car in Spain for 5 days. Never rented a car in Europe and have heard some conflicting ideas on what extra insurance is worth buying just in case something happens. Any help appreciated.
